Pimentón Dulce and yogurt dip

October 24, 2012

Pimentón Dulce and yogurt dipThe aroma and taste of Pimentón Dulce – sweet, smoked Spanish paprika – is something you don’t easily forget. After all, it’s the spice that makes Spanish paella, chorizo sausage and tomato sofrito so special.

But Pimentón Dulce is not only great with these classics. It’s also extremely versatile, and I love to use it beyond these traditional recipes.

Here, the impossibly fragrant Pimentón finds its way into a yogurt dip. The nonfat Greek yogurt makes a perfect base for this dip, giving it a wonderfully creamy texture without loading it with calories.

Use the dip for crudités, warm flatbread wedges, vegetable or seafood fritto misto, croquettes or fries. Spread it on sandwiches, wraps or burgers instead of the usual mayonnaise. Serve it as a sauce with roasted chicken, grilled fish or grilled vegetables… The possibilities are endless!

Easy to make, low in calories, big on flavor: what more could a cook hope for? This dip will give a flavor-boost to whatever you choose to serve it with.
