French green lentils with sautéed broccoli rabe and Parmesan breadcrumbs

There’s something incredibly satisfying about dark, leafy greens paired with legumes. There are so many variations on this theme that I could easily write an entire section devoted to this delicious union.

Here’s a favorite combination that can be served as a side dish, an appetizer or even a light main course. The lentils are earthy and soft, the broccoli rabe slightly spicy and pungent, and the breadcrumbs crunchy and wonderfully savory.
